Camp for Oppositional Architecture June 25th till 27th 2004 Gottschedstr. 4, 13357 Berlin, Germany International open congress searching for possibilities of resistance within the field of architecture and planning. Public Events: Friday, June 25th, 8 pm Public Opening “Oppositional Architecture” Lectures by: Dr. Simone Hain, architectural historian, Berlin Bryan Bell, architect (design corps), Raleigh, North Carolina Roemer van Toorn, (Berlage Institute), Rotterdam Musik: Fire and Ice Saturday, June 26, 8 pm Lecture by: Prof. Peter Marcuse, Columbia University New York Party: Music: Eric D. Clark, Chris Heiss & Jan Edler Internal Part: Friday, June 25th till Sunday, June 27th Over the weekend the Congress will progress with statements by all participants and internal workshops. Topical working groups envisaged are on new clienteles/alternative construction industry, open source planning/participation, architecture as a form of protest/oppositional ways of building and on concepts for widening the scope of the profession. Results will subsequently be presented to the public in a kind of topical fair or exhibition. To participate in the internal part please send a paper explaining your own work and interest related to the topics of the congress. The Camp is free of charge.
